The Bantry Bay Lions, in collaboration with the HSE, will be offering a SafeTalk training session on Thursday, 26th May from 10am to 1.30pm at the Maritime Hotel in Bantry.
SafeTalk is a half day of alertness training that prepares attendees, regardless of prior experience or training, to become a suicide-alert helper. Participants learn how to provide practical help by using the steps of TALK (Tell, Ask, Listen and Keep safe) and also gain information on the supports and resources available locally, regionally and nationally. This training is suitable for anyone over the age of 18yrs who wants to help prevent suicide and is prepared to become a “suicide alert” helper, i.e. front line workers, clergy, volunteers, teachers and people responding to family and friends.
This training is FREE. If you’re interested in attending, you must register asap as there are limited spaces and this has not been offered in Bantry for several years. To register on-line, go here.
