We raised €440 at the Fun Day this year with out PaintBall arcade for Sharp Shooters. This is a record for us. This money will be going to the Glengarriff Community Hall Fund.

The Lions were on parade with a Lion this year. Crafted by Peter, Francis & Susy it got us noticed!

Anne O'Regan and Mary O'Regan-Barsum participated in the Lions Diabetes Screening Project at the National Ploughing Championships held in Screggan, County Offaly. 5,976 people were screened, comprising of 3,239 males and 2,737 females.
As a result, 255 males and 152 females were found to be outside the normal ranges and were referred to their GP for follow-up.
The Bantry Bay Lions held their annual food appeal at the new SuperValu store in Bantry on December 15, 16 and 17. Non-perishable food items and money were donated to give a total value of €1,886.34, a superb response from the community.
As a result, 36 food hampers were delivered by the Lions Club to the Saint Vincent De Paul organization for distribution to needy families in the local community. Special thanks to Jim O’Keeffe at SuperValu and to Eamonn Maginer and all the excellent SuperValu staff for their help.
Our District Governor Teresa Dineen was able to present two members of the Club, John Dervan and Marion Rouse with their 10 Year service Awards. The photo below shows from left to right, President Francis with Teresa, Marion and John.
I am planning to visit this Festival in August next year, and make contact with he Lions in Malta.
Peter Marren went last year, and had such a good time, he is going again this year. Susy & I are going to join in. Please contact Peter for more information.

The Lions Paint Ball Arcade for the National school in Bantry on Sunday 26th November was a great success.
There were plenty of children and adults willing to have a go.
We managed to raise €316 which will be split equally between the School and the Lions.
Well Done to Peter Marren for organising this.
Lions - Take Action Now!
There would have been a Street Collection on Saturday 21st October to raise money for the Lions International Disaster Relief Fund.
However Storm Brian put paid to that. We are trying to arrange another date.
