Bantry Bay Lions Club meets at 1900hrs on the 2nd Thursday of the month at Bantry Tourist Office.
The Lions have once again run the Christmas Food Appeal in supervalue, Bantry and also a Collection at Lidle over the weekend of 14th - 16th December.
Following this, and thanks to the generosity of Bantry Shoppers, and help from Supervalue & Lidle, we have packed over 50 hampers for SVP to distribute.
FROM THURSDAY 22ND NOVEMBER UNTIL SATURDAY 1ST DECEMBER 2018 the Lions, with help from many friends, and masterminded by President Nora and Lioness Meg Wilson ran a PopUp Brick-a-Brack sale. There was masses of 'stuff' donated, some very good bargains to be had too.

Several Lions set up the Paintball Arcade for another year in the 'Our Lady of Mercy National school' in Bantry.
This proved very popular with the children and parents, and we managed to raise €183 for the Lions and €183 for the national school.
Another great success
Special mention and thanks to Sandy and the RAWR charity shop who provided many cuddly toys for prizes.
The Lions Peace Poster Competition is run this year with 'Kindness Matters' as the theme.
We had entries from 9 schools who all attended the presentation in the West Lodge Hotel on 10th November.
We were fortunate to get the local artist Hammond Journeaux to be the Judge for us. She very kindly spent time talking to the audience about all the entries, one by one, then revealing the overall winner.
“Little Steps” is a peer support group for families bereaved by suicide
It meets on the first Monday of every month (except Bank Holidays) from 6.30 to 8.30pm at the New You on Marino Street in Bantry.
Call Nora at 087-7905053 or Adrienne at 087-6599526 for more information or to advise of your attendance.
This is an event which takes place each year in July was on the 14th this year.
As always we were able to support this year's Agricultural Show. The weather was against us, with rain all day until the show finished at 1600hrs.
We had the pleasure of pinning Lion Joan O'Donnovan, who is rejoining the Club.
We raised €440 at the Fun Day this year with out PaintBall arcade for Sharp Shooters. This is a record for us. This money will be going to the Glengarriff Community Hall Fund.
